Fundamental Non-Verbal Pattern Rules

RULE 01

Look across rows first, then down columns. Check for addition/subtraction of elements, shaded areas, or line rotations.

RULE 02

Identify rotation angles: 45°, 90°, 135°, or 180°. Observe if shapes rotate clockwise (CW) or counter-clockwise (CCW).

RULE 03

Count sides, vertices, internal dots, open vs closed curves, and axis of symmetry to identify the anomaly.

RULE 04

Figure A relates to Figure B through inversion, duplication, or color reversal; apply identical rule from Figure C to D.

RULE 05

Simulate crease lines as mirror reflection axes. Unfolding duplicates punch holes across the fold axis.

RULE 06

Analyze the geometric overlap where a dot sits (e.g. inside triangle and circle only, but outside square).
