### Purpose of the ISSB Interview The interview conducted by the Deputy President (usually a Brigadier or equivalent rank) evaluates your intellectual alertness, depth of knowledge, emotional maturity, moral compass, and ability to handle conversational pressure. --- ### Typical Interview Architecture #### 1. Warm-Up & Background (First 5 Minutes) - Meaning of your name. - Academic performance and reasons for any drops in grades. - Family structure, father's occupation, and domestic responsibilities. #### 2. Motivation for Military Commission - "Why do you want to join the Armed Forces instead of a high-paying corporate career?" - "If you are not recommended, what is your Plan B?" - *Key Tip:* Articulate genuine passion supported by realistic secondary career plans (e.g. engineering, civil services, data science). Never say "If I fail, my life is over." #### 3. Rapid-Fire Cognitive Questions The interviewer will deliberately fire 4 to 6 questions in one breath: - "What is the capital of Turkey? Multiply 14 by 16. What is the difference between velocity and speed? Who is the current Foreign Minister of China?" - *Strategy:* Remain calm. Address the questions in sequence.
